Maddow lives in Massachusetts. Do you remember when Scott Brown used her name to fund raise? Anyway, Maddow didn’t break the story, she picked it up from a blog who sent a reporter to the straw poll.

That said, what is a tea & crumpet Republican? A yacht club member? How about a board member of a tennis club? Winslow was just trying to earn regular guy cred at the expense of Sullivan and Gomez. Did it work?

More importantly, WHY is Rachel Maddow interested in Dan Winslow at all? If the Dems are so sure that Markey is the candidate to beat that they choose him in the primary, than Winslow can’t possibly be a threat. And what the hell does she care about Massachusetts anyway?

That said, as a board member or former board member of the Pamet Harbor Yacht & Tennis Club, Dan Winslow certainly could be mistaken for tea and crumpet Republican. Moreover, it’s hard to imagine that three minutes speaking in the Danversport Yacht Club could be so much more offensive to Winslow than the time he clearly enjoyed in the Pamet Harbor Yacht & Tennis Club. No one can be forced to be a board member: Republican Abe Lincoln freed the slaves.
