July Unemployment Rises to 8.3%

On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released their July unemployment figures, and while the private sector added 163,000 jobs, the unemployment rate rose to 8.3%. This marks the 42nd consecutive month of unemployment above 8%.

Meanwhile, President Obama hasn’t bothered meeting with his Jobs Council since January, presumably because he’s too busy:

 

While Obama might have “a lot on his plate,” there’s millions of Americans who don’t. He seems to be complacent with a stagnant economy.
