Occupy Wall Street returned to Zucotti Park on Saturday to mark their six-month anniversary. Police intervened when they began to see protesters setting up tents and bringing in sleeping bags. 73 were detained in the ensuing eviction.
One of those arrested was Cecily McMillan, who can be seen in this video, delivering a running elbow to a police officer:
McMillan was subsequently apprehended, and suffered from what what described as either a seizure or a panic attack. The story of her assault on a police officer and seizure can be read here.
Meanwhile, police are investigating a death threat from Twitter that read, “we wont make a difference if we dont kill a cop or 2.” The comment was made from Twitter handle “smakema1″ on the protest’s Ustream channel.
A group marched on Sunday night to protest the police. Common chants called the police “racist and sexist.” Other chants included “f*ck the police” and “anti-capitalista.” At least one protester was arrested, possibly for blocking a police vehicle.
For a group that claims to want to bring down Wall Street, they spend a lot of time baiting and protesting police.
